Bills Should Look to Trade for John Metchie III

The Buffalo Bills have been trying to find quality receivers to help their offense following the trade of All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs early in the 2024 offseason.

While the team has used free agency to solve some of the holes (Curtis Samuel), and the NFL draft to bring some youth to the position (Keon Coleman), the Bills still need additional resources at the wide receiver position.

Especially after the organization has suffered plenty of injuries including the likes of Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Could Houston Texan wideout John Metchie III be someone the Bills should target?

The former second-round pick out of Alabama was seen as a top prospect before suffering a torn ACL in the SEC Title game in 2021. With the Texans, his development and recovery have been slow to a point, but also not helped by the improved work of Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

Now that Diggs is a Texan, the Bills could very well look to improve their receiving core with one of Houston's depth at the position.

After missing his second season, Metchie recorded just 16 passes for 158 yards and a single touchdown.

The Bills could certainly look to add a player of Metchie's raw potential, especially if it means adding a quality player to a position of major need.
