Netflix's new documentary, "Untold: Sign Stealer," dives deep into the controversial allegations against former Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions. The 87-minute film presents Stalions' side of the story, offering a detailed look at the accusations that have rocked the Michigan football program.

The documentary reveals that the NCAA has not found evidence implicating anyone higher up in the Michigan football program in Stalions' alleged activities. This has been a key point of contention among rival fans and media, who have speculated about potential involvement from Michigan's coaching staff.

The film also sheds light on the controversy surrounding the investigation into Michigan, questioning the firm's methods and potential ties to Ohio State. It suggests that the rivalry between the two schools may have played a role in initiating the investigation. The documentary challenges the legitimacy of the NCAA's evidence against Stalions. It alleges that some of the information may have been obtained through unethical means, including potential hacking of personal data. These revelations raise questions about the fairness of the investigation and the credibility of the NCAA's findings.

The film also touches on the broader issue of sign-stealing in college football, indicating that other programs may be engaging in similar practices. This raises questions about the culture of sign-stealing across the sport and whether the NCAA is prepared to investigate these practices more thoroughly.

Dan Wetzel from Yahoo Sports’ spoke in the documentary, stating, “ Connor Stalions clearly crossed the line but he isn’t the only one that has likely crossed that line. While we were investigating this, we sent Freedom of Information Act requests for lots of coaches, particularly the known sign stealers on different staffs. Did they buy tickets at opposing stadiums? And plenty of them came back. You can talk to anyone in college football and they will point their fingers at five other schools that they think crossed the line, whatever that may be when it comes to sign stealing. If the NCAA wanted to look deeply into this culture, they would probably find some interesting things.

"Untold: Sign Stealer" aims to provide a balanced view of the situation, featuring various perspectives on the allegations and the investigation. It tries to humanize Stalions, showcasing his background and passion for Michigan football, allowing viewers to see him beyond just the controversy.

Overall, the film provides an insightful look into the controversial topic of sign-stealing in college football, challenging viewers to think critically about the fairness of investigations and the broader impact on the sport's culture. It raises important questions about accountability and the culture of competition in the sport.
