Chiefs Preparing for Rashee Rice Suspension by Signing JuJu?

There are a lot of question marks surrounding the possible suspension of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. A street race he was involved in on a Dallas freeway last Spring caused a six-car crash, and then he fled the scene, therefore making the situation worse.

No action has been taken yet, and there has apparently not even been a meeting between the NFL and the young receiver. But now, the team has signed a veteran receiver, perhaps to give themselves some reassurance.

The team announced on Monday that they were bringing back veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster to bolster the receiving corps. Some would look at this move and say this is just the Chiefs adding depth, but it could also be them preparing for the worst case scenario.

While there has been no action taken when it comes to Rice's looking suspension, his punishment seems inevitable, as it is very unlikely that the league would let someone off the hook for something as serious as causing a six-car crash.

Smith-Schuster was solid for the Chiefs back in the 2022 season, as he led the team's wide receivers in yards. Them bringing him back to be one of Patrick Mahomes' weapons could be them preparing for when Rice has to be on the sidelines.
