BREAKING: Browns Make Backup QB Decision; Who Will Be Traded?

    By Harrison Reno,

After a standout preseason, second-year quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been informed that he will spend the upcoming season with the Cleveland Browns . But while Thompson-Robinson has been informed of his future, two of his fellow quarterbacks' are now in doubt.

According to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns will begin fielding trade offers for their veteran backup quarterbacks, Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley.

"With Browns second-year quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson being informed Tuesday morning that he's made the Browns 53-man roster, a league source told Cleveland.com, the Browns will field calls for Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley, and could trade one of them," Cabot writes ."

It isn't surprising that the Browns are fielding calls for one of their quarterbacks, given that they carried four throughout the preseason. However, Winston's inclusion as one of those whom the Browns are open to moving may be a surprise.

Winston started every preseason game for the Browns without Deshaun Watson . And despite his appearance as the entrenched second-string quarterback behind Watson, as he received less playing time than both Thompson-Robinson and Huntley, the Browns are still open to moving on.

This could mean that the Browns now view the former fifth-round pick out of UCLA as their second-string quarterback. Thompson-Robinson was a bright light for the Browns this preseason. He played in all three games, throwing for 375 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while completing 69.1 percent of his passes.

Meanwhile, Huntley, the former Baltimore Ravens backup, finished with 176 yards and two interceptions while completing 69 percent of his passes.

With Winston and Huntley boasting starting experience, it seems likely that the Browns will be able to find a trading partner for at least one of the two. But we must do so before the league's 4 p.m. EST deadline, when all rosters must be trimmed to the 53-man limit.
