'Damn Good At All Of It!' Scouting Report On CeeDee

    By Adam Schultz,

CeeDee Lamb has his new contract, and Dallas Cowboys head coach and offensive play-caller Mike McCarthy has his No. 1 receiver back.

While it took a little longer than originally thought, Lamb and the Cowboys were able to negotiate a four-year, $136 million deal that will keep No. 88 in Dallas for at least the next four seasons.

With Lamb being so central to everything the Cowboys do on offense, it is no wonder that head coach Mike McCarthy was happy when the news dropped that Lamb was ending his hiatus and coming to The Star.

And he revealed why Lamb is such an asset to his "Texas Coast Offense."

"The talent has been extremely evident since this young man has stepped on a football field," McCarthy said . "Not only does he play every position on the offensive perimeter, but he's also an exceptional returner, and he loves it. He loves being in the backfield and loves running the ball [as well]. He gives you that opportunity to not only take advantage of that schematically, but he's damn good at all of it."

With Lamb's future now sorted, the Dallas offense takes on a whole new look as the weapons at Dak Prescott's disposal look far better with 88 on the field.

While Prescott is going through contract negotiations too, he was present at training camp and looked as good as ever working in McCarthy's system for the second consecutive season.

Attention turns to Dak and his contract now after Lamb's was finalized, and for all the good that CeeDee does, Prescott has a big role to play in that.

Which is why signing Dak is the next order of business for the Cowboys. They have roughly two weeks to get the All-Pro to sign on the dotted line.

But will they? We sure hope so.
