Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has clarified his earlier comments about the team's new offense under coordinator Kellen Moore, suggesting that the media overreacted to his statement that the system was "95 percent new." In a recent interview with Andscape magazine, Hurts downplayed concerns about adapting to yet another offensive system—his fifth in as many NFL seasons.

"There's always going to be value in hard work. And I think the more continuity you do have, the more you have to be able to evolve and adjust and grow in that way," Hurts said. "And so we'll see what time brings ... but right now we're focused on this season and being the best that we can be."

Hurts' initial "95 percent new" comment had sparked debate about the Eagles' offensive transition. However, Hurts indicated those remarks were overblown, saying every system has similar plays and strategies to manipulate defenses.

He praised Moore and new quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier for the "amount of preparation and healthy dialogue they've brought to the offense" this offseason. Hurts emphasized there's a "united mindset" and "great understanding of what we're trying to accomplish" between himself and the new coaches.

While acknowledging the learning curve that comes with another coordinator change, Hurts remains focused on putting in the work to master the new system. His comments suggest fans need not be overly concerned about the offense's ability to gel before the season opener.

As the Eagles aim to bounce back from last year's late-season collapse, Hurts seems confident the offense will be ready to soar in 2024 under Moore's guidance.
