Texas has had an eventful week in the recruiting sphere, landing five-star safety Jonah Williams to pair with five-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett. However, the Longhorns aren't done pursuing blue-chip talent, and they could even look to poach a current commit to Florida State.

In a recent YouTube episode of On3's recruiting show , On3 Vice President Steve Wiltfong said Texas could still make a play for four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, who is currently committed to the Seminoles.

"Texas is still going hard there," Wiltfong said. "I wouldn't be surprised if he ultimately flipped to the burnt orange."

On3 has Charles ranked as the 10th-best defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class and the 110th-ranked overall player in the country. The Port Charlotte, Florida native committed to Florida State on June 28, but Texas hasn't given up hope in its recruiting efforts.

According to MaxPreps, Charles finished his junior season with 29 tackles (9.5 TFLs), eight QB hits, 1.5 sacks, and two pass breakups. He's a scheme-versatile defensive lineman with encouraging athletic potential.

Stay tuned for more updates on Charles amidst what is becoming an excellent Texas recruiting class - 247Sports has the Longhorns ranked as the 7th-best recruiting class in the country for the 2025 cycle.
