Raiders Potential Trade Target Before Season Starts

The NFL Preseason is over, and roster cuts are being made around the league. However, the Raiders may not be done adding talent to the roster before their Week 1 game.

Unable to draft a franchise quarterback this offseason, the Raiders were able to bring in free agent Gardner Minshew. After a tight quarterback battle, he was named the starter for the team heading into the season. While he can be considered a slight upgrade over previous quarterback Aidan O'Connell, the team will continue to look for a permanent solution.

This is where a trade with the Chicago Bears could be seen as a potential move, as the Raiders can target quarterback Tyson Bagent, as suggested by Bleacher Report .

Bagent will be the backup to Caleb Williams, the first overall pick in the NFL Draft and the Bears' expected franchise QB. Having played all pre-season games, he completed 17-of-25 passes for 207 yards, two touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown over the three games.

He has shown he can perform at a high level. When he started last season, he went  2-2 while completing 65.7 percent of his passes for 859 yards and three touchdowns.

The Raiders could look to bring him in as another option at the QB position if Minshew and O'Connell don't work out. This trade is something the Raiders could consider, as depth at the quarterback position is always important. Keep an eye on the evolving trade market for Bagent, as the Raiders could make a play.
