During the offseason, New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas set out to transform the offense and make it better in front and around quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

They went out and signed former No. 7 overall pick, receiver Mike Williams.

The former Clemson Tiger played his first seven years in the league with the Los Angeles Chargers. Last season, he suffered a torn ACL in week two that ended his season. He was released by the Chargers following the season and subsequently signed with the Jets not long after.

At 6-4, 218-pound receiver has been rehabbing his knee and working diligently to get back to the field prior to the Jets season opener on Sept. 9.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Williams had returned to team drills in practice and is working his way back ahead of schedule. This is a big boost to the receiver corps for the Jets.
