JuJu Smith-Schuster's Scouting Report on Chiefs Offense: 'So Many Weapons!'

    By Adam Schultz,

Kansas City Chiefs receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is back after a year with the New England Patriots, and the receiver now has to pick up where he left off.

But that is easier said than done, as the Chiefs receiver room has a lot more weapons than when he was there over 12 months ago.

With so many players wanting targets, sometimes that can be a detriment to team chemistry.

However, Smith-Schuster isn't concerned with his workload; he just wants to find his place among the group.

“This is a great offense, you have so many weapons now,” Smith-Schuster said . “Honestly, just happy and glad to be a part of this offense. But for me, it’s just getting used to the playbook and trying to see where I fit in. Whatever that may be, wherever Coach [Andy Reid] wants to use me, I’m ready. Just happy to be in this room.”

In his lone season with the Chiefs, Smith-Schuster totaled 933 yards and three touchdowns on 78 receptions.

While those numbers likely aren't attainable this time around, Smith-Schuster still wants to be able to contribute. With Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, Justin Watson and Skyy Moore competing for targets, Smith-Schuster might have a tough time climbing the depth chart.

But it appears that's just fine with him, and there isn't a concern about not being a focal point of the offense.

The veteran receiver simply wants to find his role and do it to the best of his ability, and with Smith-Schuster just "happy to be in this room," the Chiefs have yet another weapon that Patrick Mahomes can utilize as he chases a third straight Super Bowl championship.
