Kirk Herbstreit recently joined the "Pat McAfee Show," taking some time to review his prediction for the College Football Playoff.

Herbstreit originally dropped his prediction in Week Zero after the "College GameDay" panel's analysis of the Florida State Seminoles versus Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

While GT was not included in his prediction, the preseason No. 10 Seminoles were on Herbstreit's list to make the playoff.

FSU wound up losing to Georgia Tech 24-21 in Week Zero, falling in a stunner that ended in a game-winning field goal for the Yellow Jackets.

Following the loss, Herbstreit mentioned the Seminoles' spot at No. 10 in his College Football Playoff prediction. The long-time ESPN host admitted he was "worried" about the pick after FSU's loss to GT.

“I’m worried about my ten seed there," Herbstreit said. "I have Florida State at 10. We’re off to an 0-1 start.”

The Seminoles will have their chance to grab their first win of the 2024-25 college football season against the Boston College Eagles on Sept. 2. They'll be hosting the ACC foe in a must-win matchup.

Following their game against BC, the road smoothens out for the 'Noles. Before they have their true tests in facing the No. 14 Clemson Tigers and No. 19 Miami Hurricanes in October. Florida State will be able to build up its record against Memphis, California and SMU.

The Seminoles were one of the most talked about teams last season, following the College Football Playoff committee's decision to keep them out of the postseason, despite ending the regular season with a 12-0 record and adding another win in the ACC Championship.

This was the year to prove they are National Title contenders. While head coach Mike Norvell and company failed to succeed in Week Zero, they have time to climb back up the ladder. Nevertheless, Herbstreit is worried about the Seminoles' stock.
