It’s clear that six-time WNBA All-Star Sheryl Swoopes isn’t exactly Caitlin Clark’s biggest fan.

And now, just days after Swoopes took a veiled shot at Clark on her “Queens of the Court” podcast, the four-time WNBA champion escalated things in her ongoing feud with the Indiana Fever star rookie.

During the live broadcast of the Dallas Wings 93-90 win over the Las Vegas Aces, Swoopes’ broadcast partner mentioned that Clark and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier were named the WNBA Players of the Week, and what followed was nearly 50 seconds of silence from Swoopes.

Swoopes has been under fire over the last week after she credited Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston for the Fever’s recent run of success and playoff push but noticeably didn’t mention Clark’s contributions to the team.

It’s tough to understand exactly why Swoopes is downplaying what Clark is doing.

Since returning from the Olympic break, she’s averaged 25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists per game and led the Fever to wins in three of four games. She also broke Ticha Penicheiro’s rookie record for most assists in a season, and she tied Rhyne Howard for the most made 3s in a single season by a rookie.

The 22-year-old also became just the third guard in WNBA history with 10 or more double-doubles in a season.
