The college football season has started. Some teams opened their seasons last week, and the rest of the college football world will kick off their season this week.

Last year, six elite first-round quarterbacks from college football moved on to the NFL draft. They were: USC's Caleb Williams, LSU's Jayden Daniels, North Carolina's Drake Maye, Washington's Michael Penix, Michigan's J.J. McCarthy and Oregon's Bo Nix. Now, the attention shifts to a new group of potential elite stars at the position.

Fox Sports' Joel Klatt revealed his top five quarterbacks ahead of the 2024 season.

    1. Carson Beck, Georgia
    2. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
    3. Cam Rising, Utah
    4. Quinn Ewers, Texas
    5. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon

Among Klatt's mentioned quarterbacks, Gabriel, Beck and Ewers have the highest Heisman odds. Also, Colorado's Sanders is the only member from Klatt's top five not in his 12-team College Football Playoff.

He still believes that Sanders and Colorado will have a successful season this year. He recently predicted that the Buffaloes will double their win total from last season and go 8-4 this year.

Klatt omitted some notable gunslingers: Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart, along with emerging talents like Tennessee's Nico Iamaleava and Oklahoma's Jackson Arnold.

It should be an enjoyable season with many talented quarterbacks showcasing their talents.
