‘I’m Ready’: Browns’ Jack Conklin Versatile Role?

As the Cleveland Browns kick off their season preparations , veteran offensive tackle Jack Conklin is back on the field, ready for whatever role the team needs him to fill. Conklin, who missed most of last season due to a season-ending injury in the opening game, returned to practice this week for the first time since his recovery. With the Browns’ 53-man roster now set, Conklin's potential flexibility on the offensive line is a key storyline to watch.

Conklin, who has primarily played at right tackle throughout his NFL career, has expressed a willingness to switch to left tackle if necessary.

"I'm ready to just be on the field," Conklin told analyst Daniel Oyefusi. "Whether it's left or right, I'm excited." Conklin, 30, added that playing left tackle wouldn't be unfamiliar territory for him, given his experience at the position during his college years.

Entering his ninth season in the NFL, Conklin has built a reputation as a reliable presence on the line, starting all 94 games he's played, mostly at right tackle, during his stints with the Tennessee Titans and the Browns. However, with Dawand Jones, who stepped in during Conklin's absence last year, potentially being slotted as the starting right tackle, Conklin may find himself in a swing lineman role, providing depth and experience across multiple positions.
