'Dak's Our Best Chance!' Irvin Pushes to Sign QB Prescott

DALLAS - With the Dallas Cowboys finally past the CeeDee Lamb contract saga, it’s time to turn their attention to their franchise quarterback. Dak Prescott is entering the final year of his current contract and is set to be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

The Cowboys have dragged their feet on contracts all summer long and it could cost them in the long run. Right now, the asking price is likely $56 million per season, but the longer this goes on, the higher than number will get.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, in an interview with Fox 4’s Mike Doocy in Dallas, insists that it’s time to extend his contract.

“I hope people now back the hell up,” Irvin said. “You’ve seen what you’ve needed to see. You’ve seen enough of what we have behind him. You’ve seen enough to know now, stop playing! Dak Prescott is our BEST chance to win a Super Bowl!”

This is an offensive league, and Prescott has proven that he can score with the best of them. He led the league in touchdown passes last year, and the Cowboys offense has been the No. 1 ranked offense in the league twice with him under center.

This shouldn’t be up for debate, but apparently it is. So, the question becomes who would you replace Dak with if he were to leave the team?

Cooper Rush? Probably not. Trey Lance? Absolutely not. So, then you’re left with a journeyman quarterback or a rookie draft pick.

All of these options would close the Cowboys Super Bowl window for the time being, and nobody wants that. And therefore, Michael's message: Play time is over. Pay this man.
