Shortly before the beginning of the college football season for the Colorado Buffaloes, head coach Deion Sanders made headlines by banning Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler from interviewing football coach Deion Sanders or other football program members.

The university stated that the ban resulted from ongoing personal attacks on the football program and Sanders specifically. Keeler appeared on " The Paul Finebaum Show ," mentioning that he was unsure why he was banned. He stated that the university told his bosses that he had not breached any ethical or professional standards.

"My bosses were like, 'What has Sean Keeler done that violates any of your ethical or professional standards,'" Keeler said. "And they said 'None.' I'm just putting my hands up like, 'Then why are we here?'"

Keeler mentioned that he has contacted Sanders and his representatives to resolve their conflict. He has not received a response and does not anticipate getting one.

"I have offered to talk to Deion and his representatives privately on multiple occasions," Keeler said. "Specifically, very recently, since this went down. I have not received a response. I can keep asking, and I think I know what the answer is."

Keeler mentioned that he has had meetings like that before. While they aren't enjoyable, he believes they are necessary if you respect someone. He said he respects Sanders and wants them to meet to understand their differences, even if it doesn't necessarily mean they will reconcile.

Keeler concluded by saying if Colorado shows improvement on the field this season, he will take back what he has said and be the first person to admit that he was wrong about Sanders.

"If the results on the field are different than what we saw last year, Paul, I promise you, I will be the first person to write and to say, 'Hey Coach Prime, I was wrong,'" Keeler said.
