Jim Harbaugh Signs Former Michigan Team Captain to Chargers Roster

The NFL is currently in a whirlwind of deals getting done. Tuesday at 4 PM was the deadline for all franchises to trim their rosters down to 53 players by waiving, releasing, or assigning players to an alternative list.

However, there is a quick turnaround. When players hit free agency or the waiver wire, teams begin getting active again, trying to scoop up whatever talent and upgrades they can get before Week 1 of the NFL season.

Which is exactly what Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers did Wednesday afternoon after claiming former Michigan star running back Hassan Haskins off waivers from the Tennessee Titans .

Haskins played under Harbaugh from 2018-2021 and was a team captain as a senior for the Wolverines. He ended up earning third-team all-American and first-team All-Big Ten honors.

During his time at Michigan, he tallied 2,324 rushing yards, 30 touchdowns, and hauled in 24 receptions in the process. He is one of the best modern-day running backs to pass through the Michigan program.

Although he hasn't received a legitimate chance at the NFL level, which he hopes he receives playing under a familiar face in Jim Harbaugh.
