ESPN's Paul Finebaum is known to provide hot takes.

His strong opinions have often involved the Longhorns. Earlier this year, Finebaum confidently predicted that backup quarterback Arch Manning would take over as Texas' starting signal-caller during the 2024 season.

Finebaum has since changed his stance on that particular belief, clarifying that Manning would take over at the end of the season rather than throughout it. Regardless, Texas fans likely don't bat an eye when it comes to Finebaum's opinions on the Longhorns. Which is a good thing, because he's back with another.

On Wednesday, Finebaum made an appearance on Get Up and had a two-word response on whether Texas could win the SEC in 2024. "I don't," Finebaum said .

"I think they’re good enough to contend. Steve Sarkisian told me a couple of weeks ago he’s thrilled with his depth. I mean, they have a great quarterback. They’ve lost a key player or two though, in the running back room. That worries me," he continued.

Finebaum's opinion centers around Georgia being the top dog in the conference.

"I think Georgia is too good. Texas could conceivably play in the SEC Championship Game, but I think Georgia — even though Georgia has to go to Texas on Oct. 19, they could even lose that game, I still think Georgia wins the SEC.," Finebaum said.

While Finebaum may not think Texas could win the SEC in 2024, he certainly has confidence in the Longhorns to contend at the highest level.
