LeBron James recently revealed his Mt. Rushmore of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, and one of the most polarizing figures in the game, Peyton Manning, was notably absent from the list.

James' picks included seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, who is currently dominating the NFL, and four-time champion Joe Montana. When it came to the fourth and final spot, James hesitated before selecting Denver Broncos quarterback and two-time champion John Elway.

However, almost immediately after naming Elway, James began to second-guess himself, debating whether he should keep Elway or replace him with Peyton Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champion and the record holder for the most MVP awards (five).

He ultimately labeled it a "toss-up."

"Wow, that's not fair, but life's not fair," James remarked. "I would do a toss-up between Elway and Peyton Manning."

It’s a bold move by the King not to solidify a spot for Manning on his list alongside the other legends, instead leaving him to a mere toss-up.

Despite the uncertainty, Manning's resume speaks for itself.

Along with his MVP record, he’s tied with Brady for the most 4,000-yard seasons (14), holds the record for the most passing touchdowns in a single season (55), the most passing yards in a season (5,477), and the most first-team All-Pro selections for a quarterback (seven).

The fact that Manning wasn’t actually placed on James' Mt. Rushmore, but rather left in a toss-up, only emphasizes the weight of James' decision.

Despite all of Manning's accomplishments, he still couldn’t secure a definite spot on LeBron’s list of the greatest quarterbacks of all time
