Will Clapp, a former center for the Los Angeles Chargers , has been released by the Buffalo Bills.

Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team reported on it via Twitter/X .

Clapp joined the Bills on a one-year contract in March, reuniting with offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who had previously worked with him in New Orleans.

However, this connection wasn’t enough to secure his spot on the roster for the upcoming season.

Originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Clapp spent four seasons with the team before signing with the Chargers in 2022.

During his time with the Chargers, he played a significant role, particularly after stepping in as the starting center in Week 4 of the 2023 season due to an injury to Corey Linsley.

Over the course of the 2023 season, Clapp recorded a solid performance, allowing just one sack and committing only one penalty across 702 offensive snaps.

Clapp’s season was cut short by a knee injury in Week 15, which landed him on injured reserve.

Recently, he was placed in the concussion protocol before the Bills' final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. He had served as the backup center behind Connor McGovern and participated in two preseason games, totaling 41 snaps.

Before entering the NFL, Clapp was a key player for the LSU Tigers, where he earned accolades including a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team and multiple All-SEC selections.

Now, at 28 years old, Clapp is on the lookout for his next opportunity in the league as he seeks to join his fourth NFL team.
