Veteran WRs Tim Patrick, Allen Robinson highlight Lions’ 15-player practice squad

You knew the Detroit Lions needed some wide receiver depth and left some roster flexibility for that.

Wednesday, the team signed two veteran wideouts as part of their 15-player practice squad.

Tim Patrick was a standout for the Denver Broncos before tearing his ACL in 2022 and Achilles in 2023. Despite that, he’s still just 28 and, at 6-foot-4, is a big body who could add a reliable option for the Lions.

Allen Robinson, a Detroit native, is one of the guys we predicted would interest the Lions . He’s not the player he was earlier in his career but the 10-year veteran, now 31, still has over 30 catches in each of the past six seasons and provides another reliable potential option if they elevate him to the active roster.

The other 13 practice squad signings were all guys the Lions had in camp but cut over the past two days. They are:

    • LB Mitchell Agude
    • C Kingsley Eguakun
    • QB Jake Fromm
    • RB Jermar Jefferson
    • T Jamarco Jones
    • WR Tom Kennedy
    • TE James Mitchell
    • S C.J. Moore
    • DL Pat O'Connor
    • DL Kyle Peko
    • DL Chris Smith
    • DL Isaac Ukwu
    • TE Shane Zylstra

The Lions still have one open practice squad spot (two if they sign an international player).

The team also claimed old friend Trevor Nowaske off waivers from Arizona. The linebacker spent last season with Detroit and offers more depth and special teams help.
