Caitlin Clark Gives Honest Review of Erica Wheeler's Restaurant

On Monday, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever traveled to Atlanta and defeated the Dream 84-79.

During their time in Georgia's capital, the Fever took a visit to Erica Wheeler's side venture, a restaurant near the airport called Cliche Tapas & Wine , which serves small plates of American cuisine.

Before Wednesday's game against the Connecticut Sun, Clark discussed the trip to Wheeler's restaurant and revealed her favorite dish.

"It was cool to see [Erica Wheeler's] spot," Clark said. "It's something that she cares about a lot... She's been putting a lot of time and effort into it. It was fun for us and fun to do something outside of basketball... I would say my favorite is the mac and cheese. It was really good."

Wheeler played for the Dream in 2015 and 2022, which could be a reason she decided to invest in a restaurant in the Atlanta area. Cliche opened in July 2024.

"Top-shelf wine, top-shelf liquor, three-level restaurant where you get the elegant, you get the patio vibe, and then you get the daytime vibe, rooftop, roof reclines back, so it's pretty nice," Wheeler described her restaurant in an interview earlier this month. "One of my biggest investments, super proud of it because it's coming together well."

Wheeler has played in all but one game for the Fever so far this season. In just under 15 minutes per game, the former Rutgers star is averaging 3.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

In her first stint with the Fever, Wheeler made the 2019 WNBA All-Star team and was named the All-Star MVP. She left Indiana after that season and returned to the team in 2023.
