Jets Announce 17-Man Practice Squad

The New York Jets announced the official release of their 53-man roster Tuesday afternoon.

Now, it's time for the Jets to figure out the final piece to the roster puzzle - the practice squad. New York has officially announced the 17-man practice squad Tuesday evening heading into the week leading up to Week 1 of the regular season.

Notes

- While it was reported earlier that Lewis Cine signed a deal with the Jets to join the practice squad, New York has not announced the move yet. It could lead to Cine actually being signed to the active roster.

- Smith is a UFL standout and performed well during preseason contests. He'll be a quality player to grow on the practice squad.

- Key is the lone draft pick on the practice squad to this point for New York. Mr. Irrelevant from April's draft, Key should be a player with solid upside who needs room to grow.

- Not a single player picked up to join the Jets practice squad came from another team. They all come from New York's training camp.
