The Indiana Fever grabbed a huge victory over the Connecticut Sun by beating them 84-80 in a close affair, and a lot of it is thanks to a strong showing from Kelsey Mitchell.

Mitchell has demonstrated herself to be one of the Fever's best scorers since the team drafted her in 2018. She has averaged 16.6 points per game throughout her career, with her last two seasons earning her WNBA All-Star nominations.

This year, she is scoring 18.2 points per game on great shooting splits of 45% from the field and 37.3% from beyond the arc. And with young starlets Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston by her side, the trio has proved to be a solid core of the Fever offense.

Mitchell has benefitted from Clark and Boston helping her out offensively, which has allowed her to be more explosive with her scoring. With 23 points against the Sun defense, she reached the 20-point mark for the fifth consecutive game.

According to StatMamba, this set a new franchise record for the Fever when it comes to consecutive 20-point games. In that stretch, Mitchell has been averaging 25.6 points on 49.5% shooting from the field and 33.3% from downtown.

It has been a great scoring streak for the Fever star, especially as they near a playoff berth by improving their record to 15-16.

Mitchell and the Fever will now look forward to their rivalry matchup with the Chicago Sky on Aug. 30.
