Fever Star Shouts Out Caitlin Clark After Record-Setting Performance

Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell had high praise for superstar rookie Caitlin Clark after the duo led their team to an 84-80 victory over the Connecticut Sun.

Mitchell set the record for most consecutive 20-point games in Fever history during the win, netting 23, including some clutch late buckets. She has now scored over 20 points in five straight games.

In her postgame interview, Mitchell credited her growing chemistry with Clark — the WNBA's assist leader.

"I value what Caitlin brings to the table because she acknowledges she has the pace and space and can shoot the lights out the ball," Mitchell said. "You just have to be ready when your number is called with a person like that."

The Fever have now won six of their last eight and two in a row, helping bolster their playoff position.

"The best part about it is that our chemistry continues to get better," Mitchell said. "No one knew that when we started this like 4-5 months ago. We are really getting acclimated on the chemistry side."

Clark made her own bit of history against the Sun. A 3-pointer early in the matchup broke a tie with Rhyne Howard for the most shots made from beyond the arc by a rookie. Clark has now hit 88 3-pointers and is shooting the deep ball at around a 33% clip.
