Oklahoma Linebacker Danny Stutsman's Heartfelt Gift to Walk-Ons Goes Viral

Oklahoma star linebacker Danny Stutsman is getting ready to kick off his fourth season for the Sooners, and before doing that, he made one of the most heartfelt gestures you’ll see all year.

Every collegiate team and program has walk-ons. Players who are not on scholarship, and weren't really sought-after recruits.

They show up every day, grind in practice, yet still may never receive the opportunity to see the field. It's truly a thankless role.

However, Stutsman made sure that wasn't the case this week after gifting the Oklahoma Sooners walk-ons a large portion of his NIL funds. $50,000 in fact, and he thanked them all in front of the team.

“Obviously there's days where you feel like your hard work doesn't get seen, doesn't get noticed, but it really does here in Oklahoma. Every single day, we appreciate you guys. This team would be nothing without you guys. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I truly do mean that.”

He then added, “I feel like I have a really good connection with all of you guys. I just know how much you put into this program... With that being said, I want to donate some of my NIL earnings to you guys so you guys can have something else. After the meetings, this will be in your lockers."

The video posted by Oklahoma surpassed well over 400,000 views and nearly 3,000 likes in just over three hours.

Stutsman has become the leader on and off the field for the Sooners, and last season he tallied 104 tackles, 3.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception. Racking up 266 tackles over his three seasons.

According to On3 , Stutsman has a total NIL valuation of $305,000 and made sure all the walk-ons knew he noticed the hard work entering a season full of expectations for the Sooners.
