Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever were put to the test Wednesday night against Dijonai Carrington and the Connecticut Sun at home. The Sun brought the fight to Indiana, but the Fever still got the last laugh, eking out an 84-80 victory. After the game, Carrington went online to take a shot at Fever fans, perhaps out of frustration over her team's close loss to the Fever.

"The Indiana Fever have the nastiest fans in the W [WNBA]," wrote Carrington , who paced all Sun scorers with 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the floor to go with six steals and two assists.

While Carrington criticized Indiana's supporters, Clark had only great things to say about Fevers' fans, whom she partly credited for her team's success against Connecticut.

"I thought our crowd was honestly incredible," Clark told reporters in the postgame press conference.

"They were really into the game like that certainly helps us a lot, especially when you need a big stop there at the end like that's huge. It feels like there's another defender on the floor and I'm just really thankful for that. Even though we didn't score a ton of points in the fourth, it was our defense, like I said, our defense and our rebounding."

The Fever shot just 37.5 percent from the floor in the fourth quarter, but they held Connecticut to only 35.7 field goal percentage in the same quarter. Clark had 19 points and hit three 3-pointers to set a new single-season record for most made shots from behind the arc by a rookie.
