Paul Finebaum Reveals Prediction For Colorado vs. North Dakota State Week 1 Game

The Colorado Buffaloes will kick off the much-anticipated 2024 season on Thursday night against the North Dakota State Bison. Although the Bison are still a good team, they are not the dominant program they were in the 2010s, when they won eight out of 10 FCS national championships.

The Bison had an 11-4 season, while the Buffaloes improved by three wins last season, finishing at 4-8. On ESPN's "Get Up," Paul Finebaum shared his opinion on who would win the Week 1 game. Finebaum chose the Buffaloes as the winners, though he mentioned that if it were a few years ago, he would have picked the Bison.

"I think it will be an interesting game for Coach Prime because of all of the off-the-field situations that have been going on, but I think that they have enough," Finebaum said. "Three years ago, four years ago, I would have easily have gone with the Bison, but not here."

Finebaum is referring to a recent off-field incident that has made headlines. Head coach Deion Sanders banned Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler from interviewing football coach Deion Sanders or other football program members due to ongoing personal attacks on the football program and Sanders specifically. Keeler has since refuted those claims, saying the university told him that while he is still banned, he didn't break any of their rules.

The Buffaloes will play against the Bison on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. ET.
