The New York Jets' decision to acquire Aaron Rodgers has stirred controversy once again, with an anonymous NFL agent suggesting that the quarterback is causing "complete disarray" within the organization.

Speaking to Ben Standig of The Athletic, the agent claimed that the Jets are struggling to turn Rodgers into a team player and that the atmosphere inside the building is suffering as a result.

"There is complete disarray over there. Look at how they've handled Aaron Rodgers.” said the agent. “They have been unable to convert him into a team player. The vibe inside the building is terrible."

Rodgers, who joined the Jets in a high-profile trade from the Green Bay Packers before the 2023 season, missed nearly all of that campaign due to a torn Achilles suffered in his first offensive series. Now, as he prepares for a comeback at age 40, questions are mounting about his influence on the team.

Even before his official move to New York, rumors swirled about Rodgers' demands, including a reported "wish list" of players he wanted the Jets to acquire. While Rodgers denied these claims, the Jets did sign two of his former Packers teammates, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.

Controversy escalated when Rodgers skipped the team's mandatory minicamp in June 2024 for a trip to Egypt. Though he explained his absence was due to scheduling based on the previous year's minicamp, the optics weren't favorable, especially given the Jets' heavy reliance on him for a turnaround this season.

Rodgers' absence drew criticism, with some arguing that it undermines the team's efforts to build cohesion and focus.

As the Jets look to end the NFL’s longest active playoff drought, currently at 13 years, they will need Rodgers to deliver both on and off the field. Despite improving their backup quarterback situation by signing Tyrod Taylor, the team's success hinges on Rodgers' health and leadership. If he fails to perform, New York could be staring down a 14th consecutive year without postseason action. The Jets kick off their season against the San Francisco 49ers on September 9, a game that could set the tone for what lies ahead for Rodgers and Gang Green.
