FRISCO — In a short time, former Dallas Cowboys defensive back Deion Sanders has made the University of Colorado football team one of the most polarizing groups in college sports. Two-way star Travis Hunter plays a key role in that status, touting an extremely high profile for a college athlete.

That, of course, attracts the attention of the stars and legends from the professional ranks. Thursday night, Hall of Fame receiver, and another former Cowboy, Terrell Owens was a guest in the action.

Sanders was a starting cornerback for the last Cowboys team to win a Super Bowl; Owens starred as a receiver for the Tony-Romo led teams of the the late 2000s.

But Owens did more than just watch on Thursday night in Boulder. Rather, he made his way onto the field for pregame warmups, giving the young receiver a couple pointers ahead of the Buffaloes season opener against North Dakota State.

Whatever the two discussed or joked about certainly worked, given Hunter's immediate impact on the game. On the Buffaloes' opening drive, Star quarterback Shedeur Sanders found Hunter for a 41-yard touchdown.

That score got things going for Colorado, locked in a battle with the Bison.

Owens was on the Buffaloes' sideline during the entire first half. Of course - like Deion - adorned with the swag of sunglasses and multiple gold necklaces.

Hunter projects as a first-round pick in most 2025 NFL Mock Drafts, promising to help the team who selects him on either side of the ball. That aspect of his game remains uncertain as he may have to stick to one side of the ball.

Nonetheless, he is a tantalizing prospects for scouts across the league.
