Those who still doubt Travis Hunter's ability to be a true two-way star at the highest level of football are running out of excuses.

After making an impact on both sides of the ball last year in his first season against FBS competition, one of the many transfers who followed head coach Deion Sanders from Jackson State to Colorado hit the ground running in Year 2, putting on a show in Thursday night's season opener against North Dakota State.

Hunter was rarely tested when lined up on defense, shutting down his side of the field at cornerback.

On offense, Hunter was an unstoppable force for the Buffs, catching seven passes for 132 yards and three touchdowns.

He didn't just put up big numbers, either. No, Hunter did it in style, with plenty of highlight-reel moments like this:

Those same doubters will point out that Hunter was facing FCS competition, but it's worth acknowledging that NDSU has been dominant at that level in recent years.

Others will admit that regardless of the competition, what Hunter continues to do as an impact player at multiple positions on a full-time basis is nothing short of extraordinary.

When it comes to projecting Hunter to the next level, there are sure to be questions about whether or not he should focus on one position over the other, and which one would be his best fit. Both corner and wide receiver are premium positions in today's NFL, and Hunter stands to make plenty of money at either spot.

We've seen plenty of rare talents make an impact on both sides of the ball in college, from Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson to the likes of Champ Bailey, Chris Gamble, Myles Jack and Adoree' Jackson. But all of them shifted their focus to a particular position upon making the transition to the NFL game.

It remains to be seen whether or not Hunter will be able to eclipse that group and force NFL decision-makers to evaluate him as a rare prospect who could possibly be a full-time starter on both sides of the ball. For now, we can simply marvel at what Hunter is doing at the college level, and wonder why he shouldn't be expected to remain a two-way superstar in the NFL.
