Heat Advisory in Effect Today Through Sunday for Most of the Bay Area and Northern California
A dangerous new heat wave is hitting California this holiday week. The Excessive Heat Warning begins Tuesday and lasts through Sunday evening with many places baking in temperatures 20-degrees above average. Santa Rosa is set to reach a high of 106 degrees today. Napa is expected to reach a high of 104. Triple digit temperatures and very warm overnight lows are expected into the weekend in the North Bay mountains and interior valleys. The region is facing heightened wildfire risk due strong northerly winds and low humidity. Forecasters also warn heat stroke is a real possibility especially as millions in California plan to be outside celebrating the Fourth of July.
EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING
An Excessive Heat Watch remains in effect from Thursday morning through Sunday evening for inland areas in southern Oregon and northern California. Forecasters at the National Weather Service said dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures between 100 and 115 degrees are expected with low temperatures in the mid 60’s.
