Could Knicks Trade for Karl-Anthony Towns?

The New York Knicks have one of the best lineups in the entire NBA, but their center position could stand to be improved a bit.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz , he lists who believes are the top three targets for every team in the league. For the Knicks, he thinks that Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns could be a star the team should trade for.

"Towns has been a long-rumored target of Leon Rose and the Knicks and was born about an hour away from Madison Square Garden," Swartz writes. "A starting lineup of Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Towns would truly rival the Boston Celtics for the best in the NBA."

The Knicks have been intrigued by the idea of trading for Towns for a while now, and it could be time to make it a reality.

Towns was able to average just under 22 points per game as the second option on the Wolves behind Anthony Edwards this past season. His scoring presence would push the Knicks over the top on the offensive side of the ball, but he could take some shots away from the team's other stars.

As good as the Knicks' starting lineup would be with Towns at the center position, it could have an effect on their chemistry. As a result, the Knicks are probably better sticking with the lineup they have, as it is still one of the best in the league without a blockbuster trade.
