The New York Giants will be celebrating their 100th season, and the NFL was kind enough to grant them a home game for Week 1, setting the stage for a season opener with as much excitement for the future as appreciation for the past.

On Sunday, Sept. 8, New York will play host to the Minnesota Vikings, hoping to make the fans’ trip to East Rutherford a worthwhile endeavor.

But MetLife Stadium is going to look a little different this time around.

As part of the team’s anniversary celebration, MetLife Stadium will feature a commemorative logo at midfield. Rather than the customary NFL logo or the Giants’ own, a red circle will be in its place, complete with the “New York Football Giants” title, a player donning the old uniform, and a skyline of the city 100 years ago.

Fans can find the logo here .

Other temporary stadium upgrades will include a commemorative banner circling the inside of the stadium, listing the organization’s championships.

The quest for another Super Bowl will begin in a celebratory “Century Red” uniform – an ode to the throwback styles of the times with a few twists to recognize the accomplishments of the last century.

While Week 1 will be the ultimate party, it won’t be the only festivities for fans to enjoy. On Friday, Sept. 6, a Fan Fest will be held at MetLife Stadium. The next day, a 5K for the Giants Foundation as well as a kids run will be held – the former spanning from the MetLife Sports Complex to the Quest Diagnostics Training Center and finally the end zone at MetLife.
