Bills' Dion Dawkins Calls Jets' Defensive Line 'Great'

Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins has had a long and physical history when it comes to the New York Jets.

Earlier this offseason, the Pro Bowl blindside blocker for Josh Allen spoke about his hatred for the Jets while calling them a team that tries to be cool instead of playing for the love of the game.

As he prepares for a new season with the Jets considerably more talented in years past, though, it appears Dawkins is walking back some of his past comments.

"The Jets have a great defensive line. That's why [the level of intensity] is always so high, because they're good players who talk, we're good lineman that talk," Dawkins said Thursday. "The clash is always there, it's just a beautiful battle. But I would say Myles Garrett, the Bengals, the Jets, those teams are very physical teams and that's why all that passion and all that anger comes out."

Dawkins recently got into an altercation following their 32-6 win over New York last November with Jets' edge rusher Michael Clemons.

The 30-year-old may be changing his mind about the Jets but New York and Buffalo's rivalry should extend into the 2024 season as both teams try to get a leg up on their quest for an AFC East title.
