Patrick Mahomes Reveals Taylor Swift’s Surprising Role at Chiefs Practice

As if the Kansas City Chiefs needed even more of a competitive advantage, they’re heading into the 2024 season with a secret offensive weapon: Taylor Swift.

During a recent interview with Chris Simms of NBC Sports, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes dished on what it’s been like having Swift around the Chiefs facility more often, given her romantic relationship with All-Pro tight end and Mahomes’ favorite target Travis Kelce.

The three-time Super Bowl winner even divulged that Swift had taken a hands-on role during practice.

“She’s the most famous person in the world…and she’s really interested in football, she asks a lot of great questions, she’s already drawing up plays,” Mahomes said . “We might have to put one in (the playbook).”

While it’s unlikely head coach Andy Reid would actually run a play drawn up by the uber-famous pop star, it wouldn’t be the first time they pulled a stunt like that.

In August of 2023, Reid admitted during an appearance on the “ Green Light with Chris Long ” podcast that when he was an offensive assistant for the Green Bay Packers, he actually ran a play drawn up by the team’s janitor in a game.

Known for his offensively innovative mind, Reid has a reputation around the league for his “we'll take plays from anywhere” mantra.

An X user claimed that Reid borrowed a play he’d run against his son’s high school team a few weeks prior during a Chiefs game.
