LSU's Will Campbell mocked to Bears in too-early NFL mock draft

In a too-early mock draft, the Chicago Bears are predicted to select LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell with the No. 13 overall pick next year, according to The Athletic .

The mock draft was curated by The Athletic 's Nick Baumgardner, who selected the odd-numbered teams, and Scott Dochterman, who picked the even-numbered teams.

The pick would solidify the two tackle positions on the offensive line even further, as the Bears selected Darnell Wright as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Braxton Jones enters the 2024 season manning the other tackle position.

Quarterback Caleb Williams would surely appreciate the Bears protecting their young talent for years to come by selecting Campbell.

Chicago could find themselves picking later in the draft than 13 however, depending on how the season shakes up.

Campbell has top-10 tools for the NFL and would provide a solid option for years to come.

According to Pro Football Focus, Campbell is ranked as the best offensive tackle prospect entering the draft next season. He excels at pass protection and was also one of the best run-blockers in 2023.

According to PFF, as a true freshman in 2022, Campbell's 85.6 pass-blocking grade on true pass sets trailed only Peter Skoronski — who was picked No. 11 overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2023 NFL Draft — among Power Five tackles.

This past season, Campbell finished fifth-best among FBS tackles with an 84.9 run-blocking grade.

If Campbell falls to the Bears, it could be a gift, as PFF adds he has the skills and ability to be taken No. 1 overall.

Heading into the 2024 season, PFF has the Bears' offensive line ranked No. 11 overall.
