All eyes were on Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese as the rookie superstar and her team took on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on August 30. While the highly-anticipated matchup took place at Wintrust Arena, there were numerous times it felt a home game for the Fever.

The Sky started off strong, but Clark and Fever usurped the lead long before halftime and never let it go in their dominant 100-81 victory.  Clark went off with a career-high 31 points, 12 assists, and 4 rebounds. She became the first player in WNBA history to record her third game in a season with 25+ points and 10+ assists.

While Reese struggled at the rim, she pushed to finish the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds, recording her 23rd double-double on the season -- the most ever by a rookie. And that's not all.

During the loss, Reese also recorded her 399 career rebound, passing Tina Charles' 2010 record for the most rebounds by a rookie in WNBA history. NBA legend Dwyane Wade was impressed, "History in the making," he posted .

While Reese worked hard to get her name in the history books, others took issue with her padding her stats during a rough loss. Barstool Sports' Dave Portnoy, one Reese's biggest critics posted , "Kinda funny watching Angel chase her double double record during the final 4 minutes of a 30 pt blowout while Caitlin checked out 2 hours ago to a standing O on the road."

However, Portnoy was not alone in his opinion. One fan posted , "Only in Angel Reese’s wnba do you stay in down 27, after scoring 5 points all game to stat pad and get the double double an absolute clown and also a clown franchise to let this go on every other game."

The Fever, now 16-16, move up to the 6th seed after defeating Chicago for a third time this season.

As for the Sky (11-20), after suffering their fifth straight loss on Friday night, remain in 8th place. Chicago will look to get back in the win column when they face the Minnesota Lynx on September 1.
