College Football Analyst Issues Challenge to Georgia QB Carson Beck After Blowout

Georgia and quarterback Carson Beck passed their first test, hammering No. 14 Clemson 34-3.

The Bulldogs' start was slow, with a lead of just 6-0 at the half. However, Beck and Co. turned it on over the final two quarters, coasting to victory.

Beck had a solid afternoon, passing for 278 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It's a good start but former Auburn great turned TNT analyst Takeo Spikes wants to see Beck step up in the big games.

"What I want to see is, later down the line, when they get into the heavyweight fights ... Carson Beck is going to have to put this team on his shoulders and lead. And I'm talking about early. When I think about Georgia ball, they like to get into dog fights. When you play against an explosive team, I want to see if they have the ability to come back."

Beck helped lead the Bulldogs to the National Championship a year ago. During the championship campaign, he passed for 3,738 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Beck acknowledged the slow start against Clemson but pointed to nerves and having to make key adjustments.

“I think we just came out slow in the first quarter, maybe there was a little nerves, especially the offense, we worked that out as the game went on,” Beck said in his postgame interview. “We came out and saw what they were trying to do and made those adjustments, and we were aggressive and picked it up in the second half.”

Beck is currently projected to be one of the top quarterbacks off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft.
