Troubling news came out Saturday regarding San Francisco 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall.

According to Dion Lim , an anchor/reporter for KGO-TV in San Francisco, Pearsall was shot in a robbery incident.

"BREAKING: multiple sources confirm to me Ricky Pearsall, 1st round draft pick for the 49ers shot in robbery incident in Union Square," Lim wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

In another report by Gia Vang of NBC Bay Area, she noted that Pearsall is in "stable" condition while the suspect has been apprehended.

"According to Sup. Peskin's office, the suspect is in custody and Ricky is in stable condition," wrote Vang . "His office has been in touch with Central Command."

Ricky Pearsall is just about to begin his professional career after a five-year college career spanning stops at Arizona State and Florida. Following a breakthrough final season totaling 900+ yards with the Gators, he drew the eyes of the NFL.

Ultimately, Pearsall became the latest in a recent lineage of highly-drafted wideouts for San Francisco, who selected him with the 31st overall pick of the first round in 2024.

Hopefully, Pearsall will recover in good health and find a way on the field as soon as possible.
