Mike Gundy Is Trending After His Joke About Connor Stalions

The Oklahoma State Cowboys began their 2024 season strongly with a 44-20 win over the defending FCS national champion South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The Cowboys displayed dominance throughout the impressive win.

After the game, head coach Mike Gundy was asked about the helmet communication system in college football. Specifically, he was asked if he could hear everything that was being said during the conversations. Gundy responded that he couldn't hear it but suggested that someone like former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions could possibly help set him up.

"I can't," Gundy said. "They won't let me hear it. If anybody is a good IT guy, we can get the guy from Michigan (Stalions) down here and let him hook me up. Even though he didn't do it."

Stalions is known for the sign-stealing scandal, which is currently still being investigated. Some feel that it has tainted the Wolverines' national championship from a season ago. The scandal was so significant that even Netflix released a documentary about the entire situation.

After Gundy's statement, people took to social media to express their opinions. One person simply stated, "Michigan cheated," while another implied that it was a classic Gundy comment. Additionally, someone referred to Gundy as a "national treasure."

Stalions now coaches at Mumford High School in Detroit, and they lost 47-6.

As for the Cowboys and Gundy, they will take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, Sept. 7, at noon ET on ABC.
