The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best tight ends of all time in Travis Kelce, but he is approaching 35 years old, and the team could start looking for their tight end of the future.

In a recent mock draft , the Chiefs are doing just that by drafting Michigan tight end Colston Loveland at the end of the first round.

"Travis Kelce has already hinted at retiring before, and he may consider it more strongly now that Jason is out of the league," SB Nation writes. "Loveland could be the heir apparent at tight end for the Chiefs dynasty."

Kelce may still have a few solid seasons left, but planning for the future is never bad, and they could draft a tight end to sit behind him until he does retire.

Loveland finished his sophomore season at Michigan with 649 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He was also the team's leading receiver in the National Championship game against Washington with 64 yards on just three receptions.

If the Chiefs decide they want to get their future tight end, then drafting Loveland in the 2025 NFL Draft could be an intriguing option.
