Week 1 of the college football slate had plenty of intriguing games. Perhaps the biggest was the Florida Gators hosting the Miami Hurricanes in an in-state showdown.

Miami entered the season in the top 25 and Florida entered 2024 trying to turn things around with Billy Napier as head coach. Unfortunately for the Gators, the Hurricanes won easily, 41-17.

Miami had a commanding 24-10 lead at the half and then entered the final quarter with a 31-10 lead.

After the game, things got even juicier. As Miami walked off the field, cameras caught some Hurricanes players appearing to chat with some Florida recruits who were in Gainesville.

One camera even caught a Florida staff member trying to protect and guard the recruits from the Miami players' attempts to lure them to join the Hurricanes.

In the clip, you hear Jaylin Alderman clearly saying, "Come to the U" with others saying "Don't go here. and "You better come to Miami."

Here's another angle as the Miami players celebrated the win.

this was the first tie these schools played each other since 2019.

Moreover, Miami has beaten out the Gators for a few key recruits as of late with Mario Cristobal running the show.

Defensive back Mishael Powell transferred to Miami after playing at Washington, but one visit he took was with Florida. Former Ohio State commit Mark Fletcher also had a visit with Florida before picking Miami, as did Jalen Rivers.

Matthew McCoy, Isaiah Horton, and Malik Bryant also had interest from Florida before they ended up in Miami. Offensive tackle Tommy Kinsler even committed to Florida in June before backing out and then choosing Miami shortly after.

Another video surfaced of a Florida recruit appearing to celebrate a Miami play with Cam Ward in the forefront.

Now, Hurricanes players not only crushed Florida in The Swamp, but they also left the field and made sure to send some recruiting pitches their way as well.
