The Chicago Sky have been dealing with immense struggles throughout the second half of the WNBA season, currently riding a five-game losing streak.

Part of these problems that have plagued the Sky for the past few weeks have been the result of injury designations.

Chicago Sky star Chennedy Carter will not play in Sunday's game against the Minnesota Lynx, making it her third straight missed game due to health and safety protocols.

Chicago had to cancel practice earlier in the week after multiple players were feeling under the weather. They immediately checked the players for COVID-19.

While many view Angel Reese as the heart and soul of the Chicago Sky, Carter has been the most lethal scorer the team has to offer.

She currently leads the Sky with 17.2 points per game, and she's doing it at an efficiency level, shooting 50% from the field.

Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon was asked if Carter would be available for the team's next matchup against the Las Vegas Aces.

She seemed to be hopeful of Carter's availability moving forward, but only time will tell when the star guard returns to the lineup.

"It's possible, but we're not sure," Weatherspoon responded to Carter's availability against the Aces on Sept. 3.
