Will Campbell and the LSU Tigers are ready to face the USC Trojans in tonight’s season opener

The LSU Tigers are headed to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to battle USC in the season opener tonight. Star left tackle Will Campbell is ready to play.

Will spoke to the media this week about his approach to this first game and how excited he is for Garrett Nussmeier to debut as starting quarterback.

What is the mindset of this team going up against USC?

Will: USC is a good football team and somebody we’re not really familiar with. They have a new defensive coordinator and a bunch of new playmakers. We know we have to come out and execute, play our style of football. If we do that, we’re going to be fine.

Do you feel like the offense can be just as potent as last year?

Will: We’re going to reload. As much as we love Malik (Nabers) and Jayden (Daniels), they’re not here. We can’t make an excuse for ourselves because they’re not here. No, we have Kyren Lacy, CJ Daniels and all of the guys on our list. And we have to go and play our football. All of the guys can take a game over and we just have to go out and do that.

Do you have any goals for this season?

Will: Win a national championship, that’s it.
