All eyes will be on Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas tonight as LSU plays USC. The start of LSU’s football season is finally here. Greg Penn, for one, can’t wait to play after a successful training camp.

Greg talked to the media this week about the approach to this first game and how communication has improved with this defensive line.

What have you learned from previous season openers moving into this one?

Greg: I think that the whole team has learned a lot. I’ve learned to keep playing no matter what adversity is going to happen in games especially big games. I think that we just need to focus play by play and when things go bad, be some to bounce back and just focus on the next play. I think that this whole building is just ready to play. Ready to play a different color jersey, honestly.

How do you feel entering your last year? You came here from Baltimore, right?

Greg: I feel great, man. I’m ready to get it started.

Can you just talk about the communication compared to last year, how that’s improved?

Greg: I think the communication has improved especially pre-snap talking to each other. Even off the field, guys are wanting to meet and do extra film. We just want to see things the same as a whole defense so it’ll make us play faster on the field.
