Angel Reese Makes WNBA History Against Minnesota Lynx

Angel Reese has made WNBA history in the second quarter of the Chicago Sky's matchup against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday.

Reese surpassed Jonquel Jones at the No. 2 slot for the most rebounds in a single season when she notched her fifth rebound in the second quarter against Minnesota.

She then beat out WNBA legend Sylvia Fowles for the most rebounds in league history when the rookie came down with her sixth rebound of the game.

Angel Reese now holds the WNBA record for the most rebounds by a player in a single season with 405 boards.

Fowles previously held the record at 404 rebounds. Reese has the ability to extend the streak, with eight games left on the season slate after Sunday.

Passing a player like Sylvia Fowles isn't a small feat that should go unnoticed.

In her illustrious WNBA career, the 6-foot-6 center displayed one of the best resumes in league history. Fowles is a 2017 WNBA MVP, two-time WNBA champion, two-time finals MVP, and eight-time WNBA All-Star.

Reese's rookie season has been generational in terms of rebounding.

She became the only player in WNBA history to record three straight games of 20 or more rebounds and also had the most consecutive double-doubles by a player in league history.

Angel Reese had 15 straight double-doubles earlier in the year, passing WNBA legend Candace Parker for the incredible feat.

She's currently averaging 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. Reese is the only rookie averaging a double-double and also leads the WNBA in average rebounds.
