Joel Klatt Names The Three Teams That Concerned Him Most in Week 1

Week 1 of college football was everything that fans were hoping for as it kicked off what is expected to be a legendary season.

However, not every team around the country got off to the start they had hoped, and some will be searching for answers in Week 2. Fox Sports' Joel Klatt took to social media to briefly reveal which three teams concerned him the most in the opening week. Two of those teams happened to be viewed as playoff contenders heading into the season.

The three teams that left Klatt the most concerned were Oregon, Clemson and Colorado.

Klatt only had two words to describe what he saw from the Ducks in their narrow win over Idaho, which was "very sloppy."

The Ducks led by as little as three points in the fourth quarter against an Idaho team who were 49.5-point underdogs, according to Action Network . In fact, some sportsbooks didn't even have odds on Idaho Winning the game.

Oregon pulled off the 24-14 victory, but it was clear they did not show up ready to play. They converted on just 43% of their third-down attempts, couldn't manufacture a big play on offense and got caught sleeping on defense far too often. If they don't tighten up, their Week 2 test against Boise State could prove to be tough.

As for Clemson, Klatt said they had "Texas 2010 vibes" after their 34-3 loss to Georgia, which was just as ugly as it gets. A jab at the Longhorns in a way, but more so revealing that he thinks Clemson could be surprisingly terrible.

The 2010 Texas team started the season ranked as the No. 5 team in the country, and finished the year with a dreadful 5-7 record. The Tigers will take on an App State team that is known for playing Power 4 programs extremely close, and could really derail their season if they aren't careful.

As for his alma mater, Colorado, Klatt pointed out the fact that they have "elite stars," but then have a "giant" dropoff. The Buffs narrowly escaped against FCS powerhouse North Dakota State on Thursday, winning 31-26. If it hadn't been for the electric showing by Shedeur Sanders, Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter, they likely would have lost.

Sanders threw for 445 yards and four touchdowns, with 14 of his 26 completions going to Horn or Hunter. All four of his touchdowns also went to the duo, with the final one to Hunter, sealing their victory. A win that Deion Sanders said felt like they had lost when speaking to the team after the game.

Not counting Sanders, Colorado's rushing attack produced just 42 yards on 17 carries. On top of that, Bison quarterback Cam Miller picked apart the defense all game long. He completed 81% of his passes and accounted for three total touchdowns.

Colorado will need all hands on deck in Week 2 as they head to Lincoln to take on a much-improved Nebraska team.

Of the three programs, Oregon is the one that most would have the least concerns about. However, none of them truly inspired in their Week 1 showing, so making a statement next week could prevent even further criticism.
