Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has been one of the best players in the WNBA despite playing in her rookie season at 22 years old.

In the Sky's 79-74 loss against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, Reese secured WNBA history. She now has the most rebounds that any player has ever recorded in a single season.

Reese passed WNBA legend Sylvia Fowles, who previously held the record at 404 rebounds. Fowles secured this feat during the 2018 season.

The Sky's young star now has 418 rebounds and counting in her rookie season.

After her elite performance, WNBA legend Lisa Leslie commented on the record for the rookie. She even passed along a new nickname for Chicago's star.

Leslie is calling Angel Reese the "Rebounding Barbie."

"Congratulations, Rebounding Barbie," Leslie said. "I couldn't be more proud of you, Angel Reese."

Reese already holds two nicknames, "Chi-Barbie" and "Bayou-Barbie," so Leslie just added to the arsenal.

Heading into the matchup against the Lynx, Reese was averaging 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds. She's the only rookie averaging a double-double and leads the entire WNBA in average rebounds.

She not only holds the WNBA's record for the most rebounds in a single season, but the rookie also has eight games remaining on the Sky's schedule to boost her spot in the all-time list.

Despite all of the success of the "Rebounding Barbie," Chicago has been on an absolute rut as of late.

The Sky are currently riding a six-game losing streak, continuing to fall in hopes of their playoff chances. They still hold the No. 8 seed in the WNBA standings, but Chicago is playing with fire.

Reese and the Sky currently have an 11-21 record after the loss to Minnesota.
