Caitlin Clark Announced Two-Word Nickname for Indiana Fever Star

Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell's partnership has been propelling the Indiana Fever to new heights, with the duo once again leading the team to victory over the Dallas Wings on Sunday, September 1.

For her part, Clark is really embracing that backcourt pairing with Mitchell, so much so that she even has a nickname for her star teammate after they made history against the Wings.

Clark and Mitchell became the third duo in WNBA history to have at least 25 points each and make five triples in the same game. Clark finished Sunday's showdown with 28 points , four rebounds and 12 assists while shooting 5-of-11 from deep, while Mitchell recorded a 36-6-3 stat line on 5-of-7 shooting from behind the arc.

On her Instagram Stories, Clark shared a post from the Fever showing their stats from the game. She then captioned it, "Backcourt homie" to refer to Mitchell.

Considering how well the two are playing together, Caitlin Clark's "Backcourt homie" nickname for Kelsey Mitchell is certainly fitting.

With the two leading the way, the Fever have won four straight and six of the seven games they have played so far since returning from the Olympic break. Mitchell has scored more than 20 points in each of those outings, while Clark has five 20-point, 5-assist performances in that stretch.

The Fever's backcourt homies are wreaking havoc, and it has certainly been fun to watch.
